SI Chap a Ride is a community ride-matching service. This policy explains how SI Chap a Ride handles information sent to our text line.
What we collect
When you text our number, we receive your phone number and the text of your message. We use this only to match riders with drivers in the community. We do not collect names, emails, or accounts — there is no app and no sign-up.
How we use it
Your phone number is shared only with a driver who texts in looking to give a ride in your direction, so they can call you to arrange pickup. Ride requests are automatically deleted a few hours after the ride time. Our public website shows only how many people are waiting in each direction — never phone numbers.
No sharing or selling
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or message data with any third party for marketing purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Opting out
You only ever receive a message from us in reply to a text you sent to (929) 661-9154. Message frequency varies based on your ride requests. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe. Reply HELP for help.
